Personality

Limbo is a typically soft-spoken and well-meaning individual. She has a gentle demeanour but chaotic sense of humour, often drawing amusement from internet memes and what is considered 'Gen Z' humour—typically abstract, nonsensical, random, borderline Dadaistic. Humour is one of her main coping mechanisms, and often when put under large amounts of stress, she tries to twist the situation into some form of comedy. Self-deprecation is another type of humour she uses somewhat commonly, used when the situation itself isn't easy to find comedy from.
She is incredibly modest and polite, sometimes to a fault. Partially a product of her upbringing and partially a result of her anxiety, she tends to address people with utmost respect—using, for example, the honorific 'sama' for nearly everyone, though this is also partially due to a joke—and often reacts with awkward humbleness when complimented. She is overly apologetic, apologising for just about anything, be the wrongdoing minor or major, real or perceived, or not her fault at all. This seems to simply be a result of her anxiety and RSD. She also has a tendency to claim she's fine unless pressed further, and often worries about burdening people. It can take a bit of convincing for her to believe she's not being a burden by bringing up when she's hurting or struggling.
She generally likes her privacy and keeps to herself, this being what the point of the mask is. She wears two different masks on a regular basis to keep her "work" and "personal life" separate. On the matter of gang business, she'd already had an incident where an enemy gang member managed to unmask her, revealing her identity to the enemy. Although the enemy now knows her identity whether she wears the mask or not, when asked why she still wears it, she explains that the mask isn't to keep her identity from the enemy, it's to keep her identity from the public as she doesn't want to be associated with the Metro Poppers any more than she has to.
Though capable of great violence and having enacted it on multiple occasions, she greatly dislikes it as well as being hurt, only inflicting harm onto others in retaliation and under extreme distress. Despite being part of a violent criminal gang, she is on the more peaceful edge of the spectrum. She seems to struggle with confidence and assertion, resulting in her often being seen as a pushover and treated badly, sometimes even abusively so. She has been used, in dysfunctional group dynamics, as the lightning rod, to the point that she's used to such things. As she's settled into the position, putting her foot down isn't an easy task, and being assertive is something she is still learning.
Generally, she has an abstinent inclination and does her best to avoid substances such as hard drugs, but still drinks recreationally in disregard to her age. Despite her shy nature and good heart, she's still inclined to minor crime—her affiliation with a gang notwithstanding—and could also be considered almost anti-establishment, being more vocal about such under her musical persona. She is very accepting and is understanding of others' identities, experiences and struggles, and advocates for equal rights despite her own lack of self-respect and self-advocacy. She may be easily bothered by personal attacks against her own identity or being, such as being called racist or homophobic slurs, or being generally discriminated against.
Once she gets attached to someone, she tends to "cling" to them, being intensely loyal and acting as a ride-and-die. She is not quick to anger, but will anger if her friends are threatened or insulted. Though she can very well fight if needed, and could stand up for herself, her threshold for how much mistreatment she will take before she feels a need to retaliate is much higher than what it should be. She tends to get very nervous and is a people-pleaser; she hates being pressured into doing things that make her uncomfortable, but doesn't want to upset anyone or cause any trouble in fear of being abandoned.
She is sometimes prone to panic attacks, typically taking the form of shaking fits, crying, hyperventilating, and trying to hide away.
